书面表达规范练(四)‎ ‎(建议用时:每篇25分钟)‎ A 请阅读下面文字及图表,并按照要求用英语写一篇150词左右的文章。‎ You really should finish compiling that boring spreadsheet, but you just can’t bring yourself to do it. Maybe it can wait a little longer? Or it might just disappear if you ignore it long enough? You know the feeling.‎ According to Professor Piers Steel, of the Haskayne School of Business at the University of Calgary, 95% of people postpone important tasks at some point. But for some, procrastination(拖延症) isn’t occasional, but constant. Professor Joseph Ferrari, of DePaul University, Chicago, found that 20% of the population of the world are habitual procrastinators. Sadly, delaying our duties isn’t very good for us. As the poet Edward Young wrote: “Procrastination is the thief of time”.‎ ‎【写作内容】‎ ‎1. ‎ ‎________________________________________________________________________‎ ‎________________________________________________________________________‎ ‎________________________________________________________________________‎ ‎________________________________________________________________________‎ ‎________________________________________________________________________‎ ‎________________________________________________________________________‎ ‎________________________________________________________________________‎ ‎________________________________________________________________________‎ ‎________________________________________________________________________‎ ‎________________________________________________________________________‎ B ‎(2019·扬州高三模拟考试)请阅读下面文字,并按照要求用英语写一篇150词左右的文章。‎ Horror filled the heart of the World War Ⅰ soldier as he saw his lifelong friend fall in battle.Trapped there with continuous gunfire over his head, the soldier asked his captain if he might go out into the “No Man’s Land” to bring his fallen friend back.‎ ‎“You can go,”said the captain, “but I don’t think it will be worth it.Your friend is probably dead and you may throw your own life away.”The captain’s words didn’t matter, and the soldier went anyway.‎ Miraculously he managed to reach his friend, carried him onto his shoulder, and brought him back.As the two of them got there, the officer checked the wounded soldier, then looked kindly at his friend.“I told you it wouldn’t be worth it,” he said,“Your friend is dead, and you are seriously wounded.”‎ ‎“It was worth it, though, sir,” the soldier said.‎ ‎“How do you mean ‘worth it’?” responded the captain.“Your friend is dead!”‎ ‎“Yes,sir,” the private answered,“But it was worth it because when I got to him, he was still alive, and I had the satisfaction of hearing him say,‘Jim, I knew you’d come.’”‎ Many a time in life, whether a thing is worth doing or not really depends on how you look at it.‎ ‎【写作内容】‎ ‎1. ‎ ‎________________________________________________________________________‎ ‎________________________________________________________________________‎ ‎________________________________________________________________________‎ ‎________________________________________________________________________‎ ‎________________________________________________________________________‎ ‎________________________________________________________________________‎ ‎________________________________________________________________________‎ 书面表达规范练(四)‎ A One possible version:‎ The two selections presented above clearly reveal that almost everyone is held down by procrastination to some degree. In addition, people suffering from deep procrastination tend to experience more pain.‎ Many factors may be responsible for procrastination. To begin with, the task people are involved in seems too difficult to complete. Besides, due to overconfidence in their abilities, people often fail to manage their time efficiently. Moreover, an individual may also choose to procrastinate because the job is not challenging enough. Procrastination has negative effects on our life, such as causing stress and anxiety, leading to health problems, impeding our ability to achieve our goal and so on.‎ So it’s absolutely necessary for us to take action to beat it. Firstly, we can write down our tasks in a visible place with their due dates. Additionally, we can tell our family or friends about our goal because they will motivate us along the way. Last but not least, reward ourselves for a job well done.‎ B One possible version:‎ Risking his life in a battle, a soldier, turning a deaf ear to his captain’s advice, insisted on bringing his lifelong friend back from “No Man’s Land” despite the fact his friend was probably dead, which, in his view, was worth the risk.‎ In reality, there is indeed something seemingly unworthy in others’ eyes but extremely worthwhile to us.Therefore, regardless of what others might say, we go ahead as we hold the belief strongly that it is worth a try.‎ This reminds me of an experience years ago.A friend of mine, once mistaken for a thief, was deserted by others, who kept urging me never to last our friendship. However, I, never losing trust in him, remained his friend before he proved innocent.‎ Take up all your courage and do something your heart tells you to do so that you may not regret not doing it later in life.‎
