【英语】2018届二轮复习阅读理解专题:七选五专练(三)学案(4页)
七选五专练(三) A Compared with being rich, it is much better to live rich, that is, to ensure your limited time on this planet is spent realizing your full potential. 1 1. Understand the give-and-take. It may seem more selfless to be a giver, but it is also a gift to be a receiver. Plants and animals work together by breathing out the chemicals necessary for the other to breathe in. Understanding this universal truth helps you appreciate the moment you're in. 2. Focus on your smile. The world reacts to you based on your appearance and actions. 2 It can help you get more positive results in life. No matter what is going on in your life, focusing on smiling will improve your day. 3. 3 You can't expect to win when you're simply playing not to lose. The difference in your way of thinking matters a lot. So imagine yourself as a champion. That is how the day will play out. 4. Shake it off. Not everyone can win every time, no matter what all those medals we hand out may indicate. 4 Learn from it; then, move on. If you're still alive, you have another shot. 5. Give back to others. There is no problem with wanting to create wealth. 5 Never forget that the only reason you have money is because someone gave it to you. A. Play to win. B. Act in the face of fear. C. Here are five steps to living rich. D. Who you choose to be is up to you. E. When you lose, don't get stuck with self-pity. F. A smile goes a long way towards relaxing people. G. But it's important to spread that wealth and use it to help others. B A generous stranger bought a plane ticket for a homeless mother to watch her three daughters compete at the AAU Junior Olympic Games. 1 Sisters Tai Sheppard, 11, Rainn Sheppard, 10, and Brooke Sheppard, 8 — who began training in track and field in January of 2015 — all made it into the Junior Olympics to compete in various races. Brooke also competed in the high jump, an event which involves equipment that her training team doesn't even have. 2 The girls, who live in a homeless shelter with their mother, Tonia Handy, 46, were able to attend the games thanks to support from the girls' training team and a successful GoFundMe campaign. Handy, however, could not afford a plane ticket of her own to watch them compete in person. That was until Ken Smaltz Jr., a complete stranger, read about the family. 3 “It just feels nice to help someone,” Smaltz said, who also didn't intend for the gesture to be made public. On August 1, Handy surprised Rainn by showing up to the track right before she was about to run the 3,000 m race. Rainn was extremely excited. The mother and daughter hugged six times before they took each other's hands and walked to the track together. 4 Although the family's athletic accomplishments are grand, their needs are simple. “Do you have money to eat?”Rainn whispered into her mom's ear after her race. 5 “For me to be out here is an impressive achievement on its own.” A. He gave all three girls business cards after the meet. B. He reached out to Handy and offered to buy her a ticket. C. “She knew I didn't have money,” Handy later explained. D. They belong to Jeuness Track Club in Brooklyn, New York. E. It is an annual event where kids in the U.S. compete in sports. F. That meant all of her jumps were practiced during competitions. G. Shortly after their sweet reunion, Rainn won the gold medal in the race. C Guilt-Free Holiday Eating Strategies Are you tired of feeling guilty for eating too much during holidays? 1 Use these eating strategies to help you feel good while not gaining a pound during holidays. Wear something tight. To stop when you're full is extremely hard when everyone is eating. Try some tight clothing or a secure belt. 2 It's time to leave the table. 3 Eat a snack or mini-meal earlier in the day. Have something with lots of fiber. This will help control your appetite so you won't eat that much at dinner. Only eat what's really special. Don't eat it just because it's there. Get your calories from your favorites, not the food you can have every day. Limit yourself to two items at a time rather than filling your plate with a serving of everything. 4 Skip post-dinner eating. This is a big one, so plan for it in advance of the party or holiday meal. Avoid the late-night turkey sandwich. Only eat an apple if you are truly hungry. There are so many eating options during the holiday season. However, by setting your own rules, you can guide your way from Thanksgiving to New Year's Day with amazing success. 5 Take charge of your choices this year! A. It's time for a change. B. Eat before a large meal. C. You may fear that you'll gain weight. D. Don't let mindless eating get in the way. E. If it doesn't require a knife and fork to eat, skip it. F. It's hard to stop eating when there's a pile of food on your plate. G. That slight limitation on your belly will remind you that you've had enough. D Imagine a meadow (草地) with a calm stream slowly brushing past you. 1 Around you, there are rainbows and green grass dancing with the wind. Peace is hugging you and the meadow. Now, imagine all of these are destroyed and replaced with tall buildings. You can feel the smoke from factories and gases from cars are squeezing your neck and choking you. The stream looks like a good place to take a mud bath and it smells. All around you, there are trash and littered cans. 2 Would you like a place where nature has been destroyed? People are being careless and not considering how important nature is to humans. Trees are important because they change carbon dioxide into oxygen, and oxygen is needed for humans to breathe. What about streams and rivers? Are they important too? Yes, they are. 3 That's really a small amount. Polluting rivers and streams would make the water undrinkable. Well, can the salt from ocean water be removed? The answer is yes, but removing the salt takes a lot of effort, time, and is costly. How can factories and cars contribute to air pollution? 4 The more carbon dioxide in the air, the warmer the Earth gets because greenhouse gases trap heat. The Earth getting warmer is called global warming, and global warming can cause ice in cold places like Antarctica to melt. The melting ice will add more water to the ocean, causing floods on continents. 5 Plant some trees. Pick up the trash. Use public transportation to reduce carbon dioxide in the air. Go and take action to protect this planet, Earth! A. Humans need to take care of the Earth. B. Only about 3% of Earth's water is fresh water. C. The beautiful rainbows bring back your happy memories. D. Factories and cars release carbon dioxide, a greenhouse gas, into the air. E. The sound of the stream is peaceful and reminds you of gentle rain falling. F. There are only a couple of trees, and they look like they are going to die soon. G. Not much fresh water can be produced from removing the salt from the ocean water. 参考答案: A. 1-5 CFAEG B. 1-5 EFBGC C. 1-5 AGBFD D. 1-5 EFBDA查看更多
