It was a frightening, yet fun experience. My granddad was the one who taught me, and he helped me when I got hurt. The first time I got on a bike, I had no idea what I was doing, and just about everything went wrong. My granddad told me to just put my feet on the pedals and start, pedaling(骑自行车). He also told me he would hold onto the back of the bike the whole time, yet he didn't.‎ As soon as I started trying to balance myself, he let go. I happened to look back just then. I was scared to death that I was going to fall and hurt myself. When I was scared, my mind went blank from pedaling, and I just wanted off. I forgot how to use the brakes(车闸) and fell right off the bike. My granddad kept encouraging me to get up and try again, and after about 15 minutes, I finally stopped crying, got up and tried ‎ again.‎ As soon as I started pedaling again, my pants got caught in the chain, and I fell flat on my face and hit my nose. Since that happened, my granddad decided to call it a day and try again the next morning. The next morning I woke up bright and early, and was very eager to try to ride my bike. My nose felt better, so I wasn't that afraid of falling any more.‎ Though I knew there were a lot of difficulties on the way to mastering the skills in riding a bike, l believed I could do well with my granddad's help. After all, riding a bike was what I wanted to do eagerly.‎ ‎25.How was the author when he was on the bike first?‎ A. He thought balancing himself was easy B. Remember what happened this day.‎ ‎27.What is the author's attitude towards his granddad?‎ A. Supportive. B. Thankful. ‎ C. Indifferent (漠不关心的). D. Negative.‎ ‎ ‎ C When was the last time you went to your local library? Last week? A month ago? A year ago?‎ For many reasons, borrowing books from libraries seems to be in decline(减少). With advances in technology, it is now possible for people to download and read whatever they like on electronic devices such as Kindles. It has been argued that doing this is cheaper than buying hard-copy books. They are also lightweight, making them ideal for travelling.‎ Call me old-fashioned, but I’ve never got into the e-book: I like to have printed books lining my bookshelves; I love the smell of a new book; and I enjoy leafing through paper pages — as long as I avoid the paper cuts! ‎ So, even though I prefer paper books to e-books, I also prefer to own them myself. Libraries only lend books, so what use are they to someone like me, or to someone who only reads electronic books?‎ Personally, I still love libraries. They offer a quiet space to sit, read, think, do ‎ research … a real escape from the outside world. When I was at university, I frequently spent hours at the library and borrowed numerous journals, articles and other printed materials, as it was just too expensive to buy brand new books every week to read for seminars and lectures. Libraries are free!‎ Libraries often organize an array of interesting activities as well. At home, my local library hosted actors, historians and other speakers during the town’s annual art and literature festival. Well-known authors are also invited to libraries to give speeches or lead discussions about their work. Events such as these are a great way to appeal to people of all ages in the community and encourage the use of libraries.‎ There are still many fantastic ways to use libraries — maybe we just need to be more awake to them!‎ ‎28.What is the writer’s purpose of using question sentences in Paragraph 1?‎ A. To make readers answer questions. ‎ B. To make readers think carefully. ‎ C. To do a survey. ‎ D. To introduce the topic of the passage.‎ ‎29.What can we know about e-books?‎ A. They are easy to buy. ‎ B. They are cheap and easy to take. ‎ C. They can be borrowed from libraries. ‎ D. They are a waste of energy.‎ ‎30.What is the best title of the passage?‎ A. Which is better, e-books or paper books? ‎ B. The reasons for my loving libraries. ‎ ‎ C. The end of the library? ‎ D. The last time of visiting your local library.‎ 第二节(共5小题;每小题2分,满分10分)‎ 根据短文内容,从短文后的选项中选出能填入空白处的最佳选项。选项中有两项为多余选项。‎ Everyone wants to be happy. You see people who are smiling and laughing, and you want to be like them. 31 However, there are also bad days. Here are three ways to make you happier every day.‎ Smile often. Research has shown that the facial expression you wear influences your state of mind. 32 Wearing a pleasant expression for a long period of time will slowly improve your feelings and help you have a happier day.‎ ‎ 33 The more you complain, the more annoyed(恼怒的) you become. If all you notice or talk about during the day are the things that annoy you, it is no surprise that you are unhappy. To truly increase your long-term happiness, don’t complain any ‎ longer. 34 ‎ Practice thankfulness. Thankfulness has been shown to be the last ticket to a happy life. The more you practice thankfulness, the more you will find things to be grateful for in your life. 35 Even something as simple as a safe place to sleep or food to eat is worth being thankful for because not everyone is fortunate enough to have those necessities.‎ A. Try your best to be healthy.‎ B. You will slowly stop paying much attention to what worries you.‎ C. Have an entire day without complaining even once and see how you feel.‎ D. Stop complaining.‎ E. There are good days filled with sunshine and smiles.‎ F. If you try to smile, you are more likely to be happy.‎ G. This then leads you to realize how much goodness is in your life.‎ 第二部分:英语知识运用(满分30分)‎ 完形填空(共20小题;每小题1.5分,满分30分)‎ 阅读下面短文,从短文后各题所给的四个选项(A、B、C和D)中,选出可以填入空白处的最佳选项,并在答题卡上将该项涂黑。‎ Think of the ways you use your eyes every day.
