2019届一轮复习人教版选修6Unit4Global WarmingPeriod5Using language教案设计 (WHAT CAN WE DO ABOUT GLOBAL WARMING?) Introduction Language is learned to be used in and for communication. So in this period we shall have the students warm up by listening and reading aloud, read to underline expressions, write a poster and discuss. The class is to end by students rewriting the text on page 30. Objectives ■ To help students read the passage on page 30 ■ To help students use the language by listening, speaking and writing as well Procedures 1. Warming up by listening and reading aloud Turn to page 30. Listen and read to the tape. Pause where the reader pauses. Pay enough attention to the pronunciation and intonation. 2. Reading to underline expressions When you read the text for the second time you are supposed to underline all the useful collocations. You have to copy them into your notebook after school. That is your homework. I hope you fully understand the importance of finding and copying expressions in English learning. Expressions from WHAT CAN WE DO ABOUT GLOBAL WARMING? do a project on…, do…about…, have effect on…, get suggestions, have the power to, make a difference, put up with…, reduce the carbon dioxide content, be started with…, use energy in…, leave… on, turn up the heat, ride a bike, make… from…, be made from recycled materials, save energy, plant trees in the garden, absorb carbon dioxide from… 3. Writing a poster A poster is a sign posted in a public place as an advertisement. You are now going to make a poster for the class to tell your schoolmates ways to reduce the amount of carbon dioxide in the air. How to reduce the amount of carbon dioxide going into the air ■ Use public transportation, walk or bike to school or work. If you must drive, join a carpool and use a car that gets high mileage. ■ Use energy-efficient appliances and weatherize your home. ■ Use renewable energy sources, like solar heat or wind power, which don't emit carbon dioxide. ■ Switch from coal and oil to natural gas in power plants and factories. Natural gas releases the least amount of carbon dioxide. 4. Listening and discussing Now turn to page 31. Li Ben is doing an interview with Professor Chen about the use of different sources. Read the statements and listen to the tape recording of the interview to decide which statement the professor does not agree with. 5. Closing down by discussing We are having more and more hot days these years. Why? Because the earth is warming up fast. What can we do to help fight global warming? In groups of four discuss what we individuals can do about global warming. Ride a bike instead of a car Use as less electricity as possible Live a simple life Work indoors … … 6. Closing up by rewriting the text on page 30 Imitation writing is taking the work of a 'master' writer and using the structure and patterns as a form to learn and work from. Dear Students Care, I am doing a project at school on what we can do about students’ health. Sometimes I feel that individuals cannot have any effect on such huge students protection problems. Anyway, I’m not sure where to start with my project and would love to get any suggestions you have. Thanks Wang Geshan查看更多
