However, you might be doing it wrong. Research shows that the way you breathe affects the amount of oxygen you take in, as well as how you think and feel.‎ So which is it? Do you breathe through your nose or your mouth? Some health experts recommend people breathe in through their nose and out through their mouth. Others say that people should just focus on breathing easily, paying no attention to their mouth or nose preference. But mouth breathing has also been connected with bad breath, snoring, high blood pressure and bad teeth.‎ Nose breathing may affect how memories are stabilized in our brains, according to Swedish researchers. During the study, participants smelled 12 different smells and then were asked to breathe either through their nose or mouth for an hour afterwards. Then, they were presented with the original set of smells and a new set. Those who smelled with their nose remembered the smells better.‎ A research team recognized the differences in brain activity that occurred when seven epilepsy (癫痫)patients breathed through their nose or through their mouth. The team found three areas of the brain where activity is connected with breathing. These areas showed more changes in brain activity only when volunteers breathed in through their nose.‎ So, should mouth breathers change their breathing habits? If you're happy with the way you breathe and you aren’t experiencing any health problems, be yourself and just keep your own way. But if you think it might be time for a change, focus breathing through your nose until it becomes a habit. It might help you survive an emergency.‎ ‎24.What does the word “it" underlined in Paragraph 2 refer to? A.Your life style. B.How you breathe. C.How you think and feel. D.The oxygen you take in. 25.What did Swedish researchers find? A.Nose breathing may improve ‎ memory. B.Mouth breathing causes health problems. C.Nose breathers are not sensitive to smells. C.It's what people have to do. D.It's what people can benefit from.‎ C A company has designed a water bottle, the Memobottle, which is ideal for the office worker’s bag, because it’s completely flat. With the same shape as a piece of paper, the Memobottle is a reusable water bottle that slides into your bag to lie next to books and laptops. The bottle, which can also be washed in a dishwasher, is designed to help reduce the number of plastic bottles in landfills.‎ Two creative people Jesse Leeworthy and Jonathan Byrt, both 28, designed the bottle to be convenient to carry and environmentally friendly. It is made from a durable and dishwasher-friendly “green” plastic.‎ Leeworthy and Byrt, from Australia, say more than 600 billion single-use bottles were sold globally last year. In America alone, studies show that around 1,500 single-use water bottle are consumed every second—only 20 percent of these are recycled. And the cost of buying more and more plastic bottles adds up— the pair say that bottled water costs approximately 1,400 times more than tap water.‎ ‎“We’ve always been passionate about the environment,” said Leeworthy. “For years we have been focused on creative design that provides environmental remedy while improving social convenience. The Memobottle was designed to overcome two problems that we see in our society: our attachment to the outdoors, and our inability to fit water bottles in laptop bags.”‎ The bottle will be available in three different sizes—A5 which holds 750 ml,A4 which holds 1.25 litres and letter size which stores 1.25 litres. The product is seeking funding on Kickstarter and has already soared past its primary goal of raising £8,310 ($13,500),reaching it in just 36 hours. Jonathan Byrt said, “The feedback we’ve received has been overwhelmingly positive! The emails of support and interest, and social media comments have been amazing!”‎ The product is expected to be on the market by Christmas and will be available for global delivery.‎ ‎28.What is the main character of the newly-designed water bottle?‎ A.Clean and easy to wash. ‎ B.Practical and friendly to environment.‎ C.Flat and popular with housewives. ‎ D.Cheap and convenient to carry in bags.‎ ‎29.What are the two designers most concerned about?‎ A.Materials and shape. B.Price and production.‎ C.Comments and popularity. D.Environment and convenience.‎ ‎30.What is people’s attitude towards the water bottle?‎ A.Opposed. B.Indifferent. C.Supportive. D.Doubtful.‎ ‎31.What can be the best title of the text?‎ A.The way to protect water resource. ‎ B.Round water bottles are out of date.‎ C.Seeking fund for an ideal water bottle.‎ D.Two creative Australian young designers.‎ D Slowly but surely, we’re moving closer and closer to 5G world. From smart-home security to self-driving cars, all the Internet-connected devices in your life will be able to talk to each other at lightning-fast speeds with reduced delay. Objectively speaking, the fastest 4G download speeds in the U. S. top out at an average of 19.42 Mbps. But by comparison 5G promises gigabit (千兆) speeds.‎ ‎“5G is one of those signs, along with artificial intelligence, of this coming data age,” said Steve Koenig, senior director of market research for the Consumer Technology Association. “The self-driving vehicle is a great emblem of this data age, and that is to say, it is a sign of time, because with one single task, driving, you have massive amounts of data coming from the vehicle itself, and a variety of sensors are collecting a lot of information to model its environment as it moves. It’s pulling in data from other vehicles about road conditions down the lane. It could be weather information, but also connected infrastructure (基础设施) construction. There’s lots of data behind that task, which is why we need high speed.‎ Augmented reality glasses and virtual headset haven’t yet broken the mainstream, but tech companies are joyfully betting that these devices will eventually replace our smart phones. With 5G, that could actually happen. This is notable because companies such as Apple are reportedly developing AR glasses to assist — or perhaps even replace — smart phones.‎ Ericsson stated at February’s Mobile World Congress how smart glasses could become faster and lighter with a 5G connection, because instead of being weighed down with components, the glasses could rely on hardware for processing power.‎ But don’t get too excited. There’s still a lot of work to be done in the meantime, including various trials to make sure the radios play nicely with hardware and infrastructure construction so 5G isn’t concentrated only in big cities.‎ ‎32.What does the author want to stress in Paragraph 1?‎ A.The lightning-fast speed of 5G. ‎ B.The expectation of 5G world.‎ C.The difference between 4G and 5G ‎ D.The Internet-connected devices in our life.‎ ‎33.What does the underlined word “emblem” in Paragraph 2 mean?‎ A.Exhibition. B.Success. C.Symbol. D.Explanation.‎ ‎34. We can infer from the text that ______.‎ A.5G world won’t come without AR glasses B.5G helps to create the artificial intelligence vehicle C.Apple company is developing AR glasses worldwide D.Tech companies will face the fact that smartphones may be replaced ‎35.What will the author probably tell us next?‎ A.How to fully expand 5G coverage. ‎ B.Smart glasses will become faster and lighter.‎ C.Why 5G isn’t concentrated in big cities. ‎ D.The importance of infrastructure construction.‎ 第二节(共 5 小题,每小题3分,满分15分)‎ 根据短文内容,从短文后的选项中选出能填入空白处的最佳选项,选项中有两项为多余选项。‎ On December 22, 2016 I landed in the land of the “American Dream.” __36__Here is one of the things I’ve struggled with during my almost one year in the States.‎ ‎__37__My uncle and aunt joked that I brought rain from Saigon to America. Every year, a great many holidaymakers go abroad for sightseeing and relaxation. While they are enjoying themselves, some of them behave rudely, which causes a big problem. How to be a civilized tourist has become a heated topic.‎ In my opinion, it is necessary to watch our manners. First, we must respect and follow local customs. Besides, we’d better not talk loudly in public places to avoid disturbance to others. Also, be aware that queue jumping is unacceptable in many countries. More importantly, we should bear in mind that we are representing our country while abroad, so we need to be cautious about how we act.‎ Only in this way can we enjoy our trip abroad and have beautiful memories as well.‎ Yours,‎ Li Hua
