1. 细节推断题常见的命题形式 ·It can be inferred from the passage that ________. ·It can be concluded from the passage that ________. ·The author strongly suggests that ________. ·The writer implies but not directly states that ________. ·The writer/author indicates/suggests/implies that ________. ·Which of the following statements does the passage support? 2. 态度倾向推断常见的命题形式 ·The attitude of the author towards something is ________. ·The writer of the passage seems to think that ________. ·What’s the writer’s attitude towards...? ·What is the author’s opinion on...? ·What does the author think about...? 3. 写作意图推断题常见的命题形式 ·What is the main purpose of the author writing the text? ·The purpose of the text is to get more people to ________. ·The writer of the story wants to tell us that ________. ·The writer talks about...in order to ________. ·The author writes the last paragraph in order to ________. 4. 文章来源或读者对象推断题常见的命题形式 ·This passage would most likely be found in ________. ·In which of the following publications would this passage most likely be printed? ·The passage is probably taken out of ________. ·Where does this text probably come from? ·Where is the passage most likely to have been taken from? 5. 对文章内容预测常见的命题形式 ·What do you think will happen when/if...? ·At the end of this passage , the writer might continue to write ________. ·The paragraph following the passage will probably be about ________. ·Which of the following statements is most likely to be talked about in the following paragraph? (2) 选项中一般不可以出现绝对概念,如 only , never , all , absolutely 等。正确答案的表述一般有一点模糊,会用一些相对能够留有一些余地的词汇,如 often , usually , sometimes , some , may , might , can , could , possibly , probably 等。 2. [ 典例 ] (2017· 江苏高考 · 阅读 C) The first is that antitrust authorities need to move from the industrial age into the 21st century. When considering a merger( 兼并 ) , for example , they have traditionally used size to determine when to step in.They now need to take into account the extent of firms’ data assets( 资产 ) when assessing the impact of deals. The purchase price could also be a signal that an established company is buying a new-born threat. When this takes place , especially when a new-born company has no revenue to speak of , the regulators should raise red flags. 63.By paying attention to firms’ data assets , antitrust regulators could________. A.kill a new threat B.avoid the size trap C.favour bigger firms D.charge higher prices 答案 B [ 推理判断题。 根据本段 “ The first is that antitrust authorities need to move from the industrial age into the 21st century. When considering a merger( 兼并 ) , for example , they have traditionally used size to determine when to step in.They now need to take into account the extent of firms ’ data assets( 资产 ) when assessing the impact of deals. 此类题目的题干一般包括六个动词: infer( 推断 ) , indicate( 象征,暗示 ) , imply( 暗示 ) , suggest( 暗示 ) , assume( 假定,设想 ) 和 conclude( 推断,做出结论 ) 。 [ 典例 ] ( 江苏高考 · 阅读 D) Athens reached the point when the freedom she really wanted was freedom from responsibility. There could be only one result. If men insisted on being free from the burden of self-dependence and responsibility for the common good , they would cease to be free.Responsibility is the price every man must pay for freedom. It is to be had on no other terms.Athens , the Athens of Ancient Greece , refused responsibility ; she reached the end of freedom and was never to have it again. 70.What is the author’s understanding of freedom? A.Freedom can be more popular in the digital age. B.Freedom may come to an end in the digital age. C.Freedom should have priority over responsibility. D.Freedom needs to be guaranteed by responsibility. 一开始作者对 freedom 的定义是 “ The essential belief...would take responsibility for the state. 1. 褒义词有: supportive( 支持的 ) ; positive( 积极的 ) ; optimistic( 乐观的 ) ; enthusiastic( 热情的 ) 等。 2. 贬义词有: negative( 否定的,消极的 ) ; ironic( 讽刺的 ) ; critical( 批评的 ) ; disgusted( 厌恶的 ) ; disappointed( 失望的 ) 等。 3. 中性词有: indifferent( 漠不关心的 ) ; uninterested( 不感兴趣的 ) ; objective( 客观的 ) ; neutral( 中立的 ) 等。 [ 典例 ] (2016· 江苏高考 · 阅读 C ) El Niño , a Spanish term for “ the Christ child , ” was named by South American fishermen who noticed that the global weather pattern , which happens every two to seven years , reduced the amount of fishes caught around Christmas.El Niño sees warm water , collected over several years in the western Pacific , flow back eastwards when winds that normally blow westwards weaken , or sometimes the other way round. The weather effects both good and bad , are felt in many places.Rich countries gain more from powerful Niños , on balance , than they lose.A study found that a strong Niño in 1997-98 helped America’s economy grow by $15 billion , partly because of better agricultural harvests : farmers in the Midwest gained from extra rain. The total rise in agricultural incomes in rich countries is greater than the fall in poor ones. But in Indonesia extremely dry forests are in flames.A multi-year drought ( 干旱 ) in south-east Brazil is becoming worse.Though heavy rains brought about by El Niño may relieve the drought in California , they are likely to cause surface flooding and other disasters. The most recent powerful Niño , in 1997-98 , killed around 21 , 000 people and caused damage worth $36 billion around the globe. But such Niños come with months of warning , and so much is known about how they happen that governments can prepare.According to the Overseas Development Institute (ODI) , however , just 12% of disaster-relief funding in the past two decades has gone on reducing risks in advance , rather than recovery and rebuilding afterwards. This is despite evidence that a dollar spent on risk-reduction saves at least two on reconstruction. Simple improvements to infrastructure ( 基础设施 ) can reduce the spread of disease.Better sewers ( 下水道 ) make it less likely that heavy rain is followed by an outbreak of the disease of bad stomach.Stronger bridges mean villages are less likely to be left without food and medicine after floods.According to a paper in 2011 by Mr Hsiang and co-authors , civil conflict is related to El Niño’s harmful effects—and the poorer the country , the stronger the link.Though the relationship may not be causal , helping divided communities to prepare for disasters would at least reduce the risk that those disasters are followed by killing and wounding people.Since the poorest are least likely to make up for their losses from disasters linked to El Niño , reducing their losses needs to be the priority. 64.What is the author’s purpose in writing the passage? A.To introduce El Niño and its origin. B.To explain the consequences of El Niño. C.To show ways of fighting against El Niño. D.To urge people to prepare for El Niño. 根据最后一句 “ Since the poorest are least likely to make up for their losses from disasters linked to El Niño , reducing their losses needs to be the priority. [ 典例 ] Donald John Trump (born June 14 , 1946) , is an American businessman and politician who became the President-elect of the United States on November 8 , 2016.Since 1971 he has chaired The Trump Organization , the principal holding company for his real estate ventures and other business interests.During his business career , Trump has built office towers , hotels , casinos , golf courses , and other branded facilities worldwide. Trump was born and raised in New York City and received a bachelor’s degree in economics from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania in 1968.In 1971 , he was given control of his father Fred Trump’s real estate and construction firm.Trump has appeared at the Miss USA pageants , which he owned from 1996 to 2015 , and has made cameo appearances in films and television series.
