Tourists continue to rush to Mo’s home village in Gaomi, Shangdong province, which has become a tourist site since the author was awarded Nobel Prize. Visiting the village is to walk into the world he created in Red Sorghum Clan, one of his best-known novels, adapted for the award-winning film Red Sorghum by famous director Zhang Yimou in 1987. About 210 hectares of red sorghum(高粱) is ready for harvesting, recalling this scene Mo wrote in the novel: "In the deep autumn of the eighth month under a high, clear sky, the land is covered by sorghum that forms a wild sea of blood. When the sun comes out, the surface of the sea shimmers(闪光), and heaven and Earth are painted with rich, wonderful colors." Locals have planted the sorghum for the coming film of the novel’s TV adaptation starring actress Zhou Xun, in similar style to 1987 when Zhang’s film was filmed. But while the sorghum fields disappeared after the film was made, this time they may remain.“We have signed long-term contracts to sell sorghum to wine producers,”said Zhang Xinfu, head of Xianjia village, Mo Yan’s hometown is in the area.“Dozens of wine producers came to discuss the sorghum business after Mo Yan won the prize,” said Zhang. But today, things stand differently. According to a survey, the “dream job” of young people aged between 16 and 25 in the UK is a video blogger, or “vlogger(视频博主)”. The survey, carried out among 1,002 people, found that as much as 40 percent of them put vlogger as their number one choice on a list of ideal careers. The single factor contributing to this change is undoubtedly the Internet and social media. They have made it so much easier to reach a global audience, without having to enter a career in show business the traditional way. In years gone by, the biggest stars were trained by the Hollywood studios; now, anyone with a computer camera can become an icon. From fashion to comedy, these selfmade stars record their hobbies for fans. Vloggers are the big stars of today because they are normal people interacting with their fans about everyday life. However, what people see is only the bright side of being a vlogger and they ignore the fact that only those who are successful gain fame and fortune. For every success there are a hundred others who never get off the starting block. There are the dreams that come true and the dreams that are destined(注定) to remain dreams. This is why despite the popularity of vloggers, some young people chose to follow careers that don't necessarily earn them fame, but allow them to make good use of the Internet to share their hobbies. Young Israeli David Leshaw, for example, runs a business called the Finishers Club. It's an online platform for runners to keep a record of their races. He told the career website Zippia that his job allows him to express his passion, and is always a learning experience. And that's enough for him. 28.How many of the young people surveyed chose vlogger as their first ideal career? A.One fifth. B.Two fifths. C.Three fifths. D.Four fifths. 29.What does the underlined word “They” in Paragraph 3 refer to? A.Ideal careers. B.The biggest stars. C.The Internet and social media. D.The single factor and this change. 30.Why do vloggers become big stars of today? A.Because people can see the vlogger's bright side. B.Because they will not spend a lot of money on the screen. C.Because they communicate with their fans about everyday life. D.Because they can gain both fame and fortune by being a vlogger. 31.What can we know from David Leshaw's experience? A.Success is the first for David Leshaw. B.David Leshaw likes to be a vlogger very much. C.Despite not being a famous vlogger, he still earns a lot of money. D.Despite not being famous, he finds his favorite job and learns a lot from it. D I started my journey at the Cadillac House, drove out of the city and got on the 195 toward Washington, D.C. It's about a fourhour drive. As soon as I jumped on the highway, I sped up to about 70 miles per hour and entered standard cruise control. A small indicator on the instrument panel(仪表盘) showed the car was ready to engage selfdriving mode. I pushed a button on the steering wheel to begin, initiating Super Cruise mode. A green light bar at the top of my steering wheel showed that Super Cruise was on. There were no shake, no sudden speed changes or anything like that. The car remained perfectly steady. It uses a combination of cameras, radar sensors, and GPS to find the center of the lane. The car found it, like a train on a track. I had to admit that I was little worried about letting the car take over at first. I kept my hands near the wheel and my eyes locked on the road. After about ten minutes, I finally started to trust the car's judgment. It soon became clear that it could easily drive itself in light traffic, braking when necessary and keeping a steady speed. Then we hit a bottleneck. There was a standstill traffic outside of Baltimore, and things could have easily gone wrong, but this is where Super Cruise really shined. The vehicle came to a complete stop to avoid crashing into traffic, and then sped up when cars started moving again. It was really impressive, and something that sets the 2018 Cadillac CT6 apart from all competitors. I eventually turned off the highway and headed into Washington,D.C. to turn Super Cruise off, I simply hit the button on the steering wheel again. The green light at the top of the wheel turned off, and I took control of the car. The CT6 had no problem bringing me from New York to Washington,D.C., in Super Cruise mode practically all by itself. It makes me hopeful for a future where I'll never need to touch a steering wheel again. 32.What is the text mainly about? A.A report comparing different cars' performance. B.A description of an adventurous journey. C.An advertizement of a new type of car. D.An account of a selfdriving experience. 33.What does the underlined word “initiating” in Paragraph 2 mean? A.Taking in. B.Turning on. C.Making out. D.Coming off. 34.What did the writer think of the selfdriving mode at the beginning of the journey? A.Doubtful. B.Exciting. C.Boring. D.Reliable. 35.What is the competitive advantage of the writer's car compared to similar ones? A.There is no need to touch the steering wheel all the way. B.The builtin facilities help the car remain steady. C.The car can adjust its speed according to traffic conditions. D.The operation of the Super Cruise mode is quite simple. 第二节(共5小题;每小题2分,满分10分) 根据短文内容,从短文后的选项中选出能填入空白处的最佳选项。选项中有两项为多余选项。 Many students have to live with roommates while going to school or university.
