W: All right. See you then.‎ Text 10‎ M: Over 50 percent of Americans give a few hours a week to help in their communities, their churches, or in their children’s schools. These people are volunteers. Today we’ll get to know two of them.‎ Walter volunteers for “Meals on Wheels”. On Tuesdays, he delivers hot meals. At 11:30 on Tuesday morning, he drives to a church hall and picks up the meals. He drives to 11 hours in his town. Most of the people live alone, but there are a few couples. Many of the people are older, and most are over 80. They can’t cook because they have physical problems, such as back or leg or heart problems. Walter says hello and talks for a few minutes. It takes Walter about two hours to deliver the meals.‎ Kate volunteers at Children’s Hospital on Thursday afternoon. Kate works in the Infants Care Unit. Some of the children have AIDS. Some have mothers who are heavy drinkers or drug users. The babies need lots of love and attention. She holds the babies, feeds them, talks to them, and sings to them. Kate says, “I give them love, and they give me love in return.”‎
