These birds were able to reduce the populations safely, eliminating the need for poisons in the area.‎ According to this information, as well as the poisoned blood found in dead larger animals  in the area, the Ventura County Board of Supervisors order all county agencies to discontinue the use of poisons.‎ ‎    This study has not only proven that these birds are an environmentally-friendly substitute to using poisons, but that they are more effective than using harmful poisons in the circa.
