衡水市2019高考英语阅读理解三月天天练1及解析
衡水市2019高考英语阅读理解三月天天练(1)及解析 With a glass of wine in hand, I settle into a comfortable sofa on the deck of the 55-meter-long steamboat that carries up to 60 passengers. We’re traveling to the Cambodian(柬埔寨) city of Siem Reap from the Mekong delta(湄公河三角洲) near Ho Chi Minh City, with stops in the border town of Chau Doc and the capital Phnom Penh in between. Once aboard, there’s no rush to catch flights or security lines to run through, no hurried rides along busy roads and no bags to pull from stop to stop. Instead, there’s a lovely river wind, staff attending to my every sudden desire and fantastic scenery to appreciate. “River cruising(巡游) is the most gentle and interesting way to see a country. And there is always something to see--river traffic, and sights on the banks,” says Geoff Becque, a 66-year-old retiree from the U.K. who’s cruised the Yangtze and Nile rivers. On a river cruise, the waterway is the destination. And in a rushing world, it’s the perfect way to slow down. As one passenger told me on my Mekong cruise, “Everything is so fast— that’s why I’m on a boat at the moment.” Of course, you should bring along insect repellent(驱蚊药), a wide-edged hat, sunblock and comfortable shoes. Smart casual is the usual dress code for dinner. Playing cards, an iPod, the novel you keep meaning to read and good company are useful ideas, too. Bear in mind, also, that a river is a force of nature. Sometimes things happen. Even a fancy riverboat isn’t immune to getting stuck in shallow water. And my steamboat cruise got caught in a sudden big storm in Cambodia, leaving passengers in the rain on a sandbank, where they had gathered for a barbecue sunset dinner. 67. The author’s boat will probably not stop at the city of ________. A. Ho Chi Minh B. Siem Reap C. Chau Doc D. Phnom Penh 68. People choose to travel by boat mainly because it is ________. A. quick and fashionable B. slow and comfortable C. popular and adventurous D. cheap and relaxing 69. According to the last two paragraphs, it’s not necessarily important to travel _______. A. with some good friends B. with something for recreation C. on a fancy boat D. in a relaxed mood 70. The text is intended to ________. A. describe a true travel story B. attract tourists into Cambodia C. advertise some travelling agency D. state some opinions about river cruising 参考答案 67—70、ABCD ******************************************************结束 (2011·江苏卷)C According to the US government, wind farms off the Pacific coast could produce 900 gig watts of electricity every year.Unfortunately, the water there is far too deep for even the tallest windmills(see picture)to touch bottom. An experiment under way off the coast of Norway, however, could help put them anywhere. The project, called Hywind,is the world’s first large-scale deepwater wind turbine(涡轮发电机).Although it uses a fairly standard 152-ton,2.3-megawatt turbine,Hywind represents totally new technology. The turbine will be fixed 213 feet above the water on a floating spar(see picture),a technology Hywind’s creator, the Norwegian company StatoilHydro, has developed recently. The steel spar, which is filled with stones and goes 328 feet below the sea surface, will be tied to the ocean floor by three cable(缆索);these will keep the spar stable and prevent the turbine from moving up and down in the waves.Hywind’s stability(稳定性)in the cold and rough sea would prove that even the deepest corners of the ocean are suitable for wind power. If all goes according to plan, the turbine will start producing electricity six miles off the coast of southwestern Norway as early as September. To produce electricity on a large scale, a commercial wind farm will have to use bigger turbines than Hywind does, but it’s difficult enough to balance such a large turbine so high on a floating spar in the middle of the ocean. To make that turbine heavier, the whole spar’s to design a new kind of wind turbine, one whose gearbox(变速箱) sits at sea level rather than behind the blades (see picture ) Hywind is a test run, but the benefits for perfecting floating wind-farm technology could be extremely large. Out at sea, the wind is often stronger and steadier than close to shore, where all existing offshore windmills are planted. Deep-sea farms are invisible from land, which helps overcome the windmill-as-eyesore objection. If the technology catches on, it will open up vast areas of the planet’s surface to one of the best low-carbon power sources available. 63. The Hywind project uses totally new technology to ensure the stability of _______. A. the cables which tie the spar to the ocean floor B. the spar which is floating in deep-sea water C. the blades driven by strong and steady sea wind D. the stones filled in the spar below the sea surface 64. To balance a bigger turbine high on a flatting spar, a new type of turbine is to be designed with its gearbox sitting ____________. A. on the sea floor B. on the spar top C. at sea level D. behind the blades 65. Wide applications of deepwater wind power technology can ____________. A. solve the technical problems of deepwater windmills B. make financial profits by producing more turbines C. settle the arguments about environmental problems D. explore low-carbon power resources available at sea 63. There is that great idea that in an information and knowledge based economy, the most important thing for companies is attracting and holding outstanding talented guys. Obviously I will not say that is not important, but in my opinion a successful and groundbreaking company cannot be built just from the collection of high talented people, as a great sports team can’t be constructed only by the collection of great players. It is more important to build teams of people that achieve the goals according to the company’s organizational concept. It is necessary to create organizations where everybody (with outstanding talent or not) can develop their best personal competence and that these capacities(能力) are addressed to achieve the corporate goals and mission. The company efforts must be addressed to design an organizational system that produces and uses talent from everyone in the company. Trying to get the best from our people through corporate team building policies, establishing a concrete corporate culture and values, making our company a place where people want to work because it is a good place to stay and develop their capacities, is the best way to compete in the knowledge economy. That will keep us out of the obligation to constantly seek for the “best players” and entering in the retribution auctions(拍卖). We have to take into account that, nowadays, the really talented and creative people, like to work or engage themselves in projects where they can develop their capacities, they can be involved in the organizational goals and concept, and where they are treated with respect and dignity. Definitively, they want to be happy doing their jobs. And we have to build organizations where they can find that. 71. The underlined word “that” in Paragraph 1 refers to ________. A. information and knowledge B. the great idea C. the collection of talented people D. attracting and holding talented people 72. In the author’s opinion, a good company should consist of ________. A. only outstanding people B. both talented and common people C. only common people D. more talented people than common people 73. The most important thing a successful company should do is ________. A. constantly seek for talented people B. employ people with different abilities C. make employees glad to be devoted to work D. give employees the best pay and great respect 74. According to Paragraph 3, the company can get the best from its employees in the following ways EXCEPT ________. A. encouraging them to develop their abilities B. competing in the knowledge economy C. making corporate team building rules D. forming corporate culture and values 75. How is the text organized? (1)—Paragraph 1 (2)—Paragraph 2 (3)—Paragraph 3 (4)—Paragraph 4 A. (1)→(2)→(3)→(4) B. (1)(2)→(3)(4) ↗(2) (1)↘ C. (1)→(3) D.
