Scientists from Princeton University carried out experiments on 327 students. All students got the same lectures, but some used laptops, and others took notes by hand.‎ When it came to learning the concepts(概念), the handwriters won. In fact, the study shows the thoroughness of their notes causes the problem. Laptop users took notes word by word mindlessly, but handwriters wrote fewer words. By selecting the more important information, handwriters studied more efficiently, said researchers. The study suggests that writing is better and the hand has a “unique relationship with the brain when it comes to organizing thoughts and ideas.”‎ Here’s what’s a bit frightening: When the laptop students were asked to cut down the long notes, they couldn’t. The chance of persuading students to put away their laptops is probably zero.
