That would be difficult.‎ ‎(Text 5)‎ M: This year our sales increased by 23%.‎ W: What caused the increase? ‎ M: Well, the harvest of oranges, bananas and some other fruits was good. Prices dropped and so sales increased.‎ ‎(Text 6) ‎ M: Hi, June. Have you had any trouble using the system this morning? I can’t use my computer.‎ W: There was a power failure last night, and all of our passwords were lost. You have to go to the computer services office to set up a new one.‎ M: Oh, great. That’s the office on the first floor next to the reception desk, right?‎ W: It’s on the first floor, but it’s beside the stairs at the back. You’ll have to turn left when you come out of the lift.‎ ‎(Text 7) ‎ W: I need to make some money to pay my next term’s school fee. Do you know of any part-time jobs?‎ M: How about delivering newspapers? I know that John from our class did it last year.‎ W: I already thought of that, but I don’t have a bike.‎ M: Then how about walking dogs? You know, there’re a lot of people around the neighborhood with dogs.‎ W: Sounds interesting. But how can I find dogs to walk? ‎ M: You can put an advertisement in the Sunday newspaper.‎ W: Thank you. I’ll phone the newspaper right now.‎ ‎(Text 8) ‎ M: Hi, I’m calling about a television I ordered from your online shop.‎ W: Yes, sir. So what is the problem?‎ M: I was told it would arrive in two days — that would be on Monday, and it didn’t arrive until today. That’s three days late. ‎ W: I’m sorry about that. And how is it going with the TV set now?‎ M: I haven’t turned it on. When I set it up, I found there was no remote control in the box.‎ W: Actually some of the models do not have remote controls. ‎ M: But the remote control is listed as one of the things that is supposed to be included on the list.‎ W: In that case, we will be happy to send you a new remote control as soon as possible. ‎ ‎(Text 9) ‎ W: Peter, what things do you enjoy spending money on?‎ M: Well, I’m a big football fan. So when I don’t have much schoolwork, I watch matches. What I really like spending money on is the ticket for football matches.‎ W: What do you think teenagers in your country spend their money on?‎ M: I think it really depends. I guess girls spend more money on clothes and magazines while boys spend money on music and things like football matches. In general though, I think both boys and girls spend a lot of money just going out to places and having a good time.‎ W: Do you have a favorite shop?‎ M: I’m not interested in shopping, actually. But there is a shop I really enjoy going to. It’s a sports shop and what I really like about it is just to wander round and see all the clothes and equipment they sell. I can’t afford them. They are expensive.‎ W: What’s shopping like in the area where you live?‎ M: I guess the shopping must be pretty good, because my mum and dad do all the shopping ‎ nearby. They always say it has fresh vegetables and good food.‎ ‎(Text 10) ‎ M: In July 2012, an American man named Erden Eruc completed a 5-year journey, becoming the first person ever to travel all the way around the world with no help of cars or trains. All he used was his own arms and legs, to cycle, row and walk around the world. His plan before beginning the trip was to climb the six highest mountains on earth. The weather on the mountains was terrible but it didn’t stop him. However, he was only able to climb three of them, not because of his health condition, but for money problems. Erden spent most of his time on the trip in his boat. Being alone on the sea for that much time was not at all easy, but he kept busy by listening to music and studying Spanish. He took dried food with him and had a water machine to make fresh water out of seawater. However, it only worked on sunny days. Erden is sure he will take more trips one day. But at the moment all he wants to do is rest and spend time with his wife Nancy.‎
