Each of her objects had its place, but mine always hid somewhere. She even ‎ labeled(贴标签)everything. I always looked for everything. Over time, Kate got neater and I got messier. She would push my dirty clothing over, and I would lay my books on her tidy desk. We both got tired of each other.‎ War broke out one evening. Kate came into the room. Soon, I heard her screaming. “Take your shoes away! Why under my bed!” Deafened, I saw my shoes flying at me. I jumped to my feet and started yelling. She yelled back louder.‎ The room was filled with anger. We could not have stayed together for a single minute but for a phone call. Kate answered it. From her end of the conversation, I could tell right away her grandma was seriously ill. When she hung up, she quickly crawled(爬)under her covers, sobbing.‎ Obviously, that was not something she should not go through alone. All of a sudden, a warm feeling of sympathy rose up in my heart.Slowly, I collected the pencils, took back the books, made my bed, cleaned the socks and swept the floor, even on her side. I got so into my work that I even didn’t notice Kate had sat up. She was watching, her tears dried and her expression one of disbelief. Then, she reached out her hands to grasp mine. I looked up into her eyes. She smiled at me, “Thanks.”‎ Kate and I stayed roommates for the rest of the year. We didn’t always agree, but we learned the key to living together: giving in, cleaning up and holding on.‎ ‎ 24. What made Kate so angry one evening?  A.She couldn’t find her books. Or how hard it is to be among people laughing and not laugh yourself? Well, apparently it's because we have mirror neurons(#l13/)in our brains.‎ Put simply, the existence of mirror neurons suggests that every time we see someone else do something. our brain imitate(模仿)it, whether or not we actually perform the same action. This explains a great deal about how we learn to smile, talk, walk, dance or play sports. But the idea goes further: mirror neurons not only appear to explain physical actions, they also tell us that there is a biological basis for the way we understand other people.‎ Mirror neurons can undoubtedly be found all over our brains, but especially in the areas which relate to our ability to use languages, and to understand how other people fecl. Researchers have found that mirror neurons relate strongly to language. A group of researchers discovered that if they gave people sentences to listen to(for example: "The hand took hold of the ball" ). the same mirror neurons were triggered as when the action was actually performed (in this example.actually taking hold of a ball).‎ Any problems with mirror neurons may well result in problems with behavior. Much rescarch suggests that people with social and behavioral problems have mirror neurons which are not fully functioning. However, it is not yet known exactly how these discoveries might help find treatments for social disorders.‎ Research into mirror neurons seems to provide us with ever more information concerning how humans behave and Interact(互动). Indeed, it may turn out to be the equivalent(相等物) for neuroscience of what Einstein' s theory of relativity was for physics. And the next time you feel the urge to cough in the cinema when someone else does—well perhaps you' ll understand why.‎ ‎32. Mirror neurons can explain ‎ A.why we cry when we are hurt.‎ B.why we cough when we suffer from a cold.‎ C.why we smile when we see someone else smile.‎ D.why we yawn when we see someone else stay up late.‎ ‎33. The underlined word"triggered"in the third paragraph probably means" ".‎ A. set off. B cut off. C. built up. D. broken up.‎ ‎34. We can learn from the passage that mirror neurons ‎ A.determine our knowledge and language abilities.‎ B.control human physical actions and feelings.‎ C.result in bad behavior and social disorders.‎ D.relate to human behavior and interaction.‎ ‎35. What is the passage mainly about?‎ A.Functions of mirror neurons. B.Problem of mirror neurons.‎ C.Existence of mirror neurons. D.Ways to find mirror neurons.‎ ‎ 第二节(共5小题:每小题2分,满分10分)‎ 根据短文内容,从短文后的选项中选出能填入空白处的最佳选项。选项中有两项为多余选项。‎ ‎ Everyone has feelings of anxiety, nervousness, tension and stress from time to time. Here are a few ways to help us manage them.‎ ‎ 36 We all think we know how to relax. But calming down in front of the TV or computer isn’t true relaxation. Depending on what you’re watching or doing, it could even make you more nervous. The same is true for alcohol, drugs or tobacco. They may seem to relieve anxiety or stress, but it’s a false state of relaxation that’s only temporary. What the body really needs is a relaxation technique -- like deep breathing, tai chi or yoga -- that has a physical effect on the mind.‎ ‎ Get enough sleep, nutrition and exercise. Get the right amount of sleep for your need – not too much or too little. Eat well -- choose fruit, vegetables, low-fat proteins and whole grains for long-term energy instead of the short bursts that come from too much sugar or caffeine. 37 In that way, your brain and body can operate at their best.‎ ‎ Connect with others. 38 Doing things with those we feel close to deepens our bonds, which allows us to feel happier and less upset about things. If you feel worried or nervous about something, talking about it with someone who listens and cares can help you feel more understood and better able to deal with it. You’ll be reminded that everyone has these feelings sometimes. You’re not alone.‎ ‎ 39 Heading out for a walk in the park or a hike in the woods can help anyone feel peaceful. Choose somewhere you feel safe so that you can relax and enjoy your surroundings. Walking or hiking can offer additional benefit or exercise. Invite a friend or two -- or a family member -- along and enjoy feeling connected to people as well.‎ Think positively. A great way to keep our minds off the worry track is to focus our thoughts on things that are good, beautiful and positive. 40 ‎ ‎ A. Spend time with your friends or family.‎ ‎ B. Express yourself to others.‎ ‎ C. Connect with nature.‎ ‎ D. Keep away from stress and anxiety.‎ ‎ E. Allow yourself to dream and wish for the best.‎ ‎ F. Exercise to send oxygen to every cell in the body.‎ ‎ G. Choose a correct way to relax.‎ 第三部分:英语知识运用(共两节,满分:45分) ‎ 第一节:完形填空(共20小题;每小题1.5分,满分30分)‎ 阅读下面短文,从短文后各题所给的四个选项(A、B、C和D)中,选出可以填入空白处的最佳选项,并在答题卡上将该项涂黑。‎ Whatever misfortune you face, just hold up your head and face it with a smile! If not, please let me know. I am Pref. John Morris. I’ll be your teacher for the next 13 weeks. As you can probably tell, this is one of popular and crowded classes. Indeed, every time these courses are offered, this room is very full. Why is that? Well, in order to use the English language, it’s very important to have at least a basic understanding of how words are formed. Just to mention one figure, and there are many. There are about one million words in English. If you are an English learner, you might wonder how you can possibly remember all of these words. Well, for one thing you don’t have to. No native speaker exists who knows all of the words in the English language. Besides there are shortcuts. Shortcuts? Yes, for example, if you know how words are formed by using parts of words from other languages, such Greek and French, you’ll understand a good number of English words when you first come across them. Let me put it this way. Knowing the rules will help you master a large number of words. This is probably the No. 1 reason why this class is so popular.‎ 第二部分阅读理解 A篇21-23 CDD.‎ B篇24--27 BCDB C 篇 28-31.A BCA ‎ D篇:【答案】 32—35 CADA ‎ 七选五:36-40 GFACD 完形填空:41-45ACBBD 46-50 BADBC  51-55 ADCBC  56-60 BAADC 语法填空 ‎ 这篇文章节选自海伦·凯勒的《假如给我三天光明》,文中作者讲述如果有三天光明最想做的事情。‎ ‎61.most 句意: 我自然最想看到这些年陪我度过了这么长的黑暗岁月里最宝贵的东西。使用much的最高级。故填most。‎ ‎62.kindness 形容词whose修饰名词。kindness是“善良”的意思。故填kindness。‎ ‎63.living be worth doing意为“值得做”。这里是形容词作宾语补足语。故填living。‎ ‎64.at 此处使用短语stare at,意为“凝望”。故填at。‎ ‎65.opened 根据上文“who came to me when I was a child”可知,and后面的句子用一般过去时。故填opened。‎ ‎66.it 根据上下文可知这里指“the outline of her face”,所以用it代替。故填it。‎ ‎67.which 此处使用定语从句,先行词是“the love and patience”,定语从句中介词with后面缺少宾语,用which引导。故填which。‎ ‎68.bravely 修饰动词act要用副词。故填bravely。‎ ‎69.shown 此处作定语修饰“all humankind”,而all humankind和show是被动关系,用过去分词作定语。故填shown。‎ ‎70.had 根据上文“those things above would be the things that I should see”可知,if条件句用一般过去时表示虚拟语气。故填had。‎ 改错:‎ ‎71:swim-swimming ‎72;is-was ‎73;kind-kinds ‎74;have built-have been built ‎75;are-is ‎76;polluting-polluted ‎77;terribly-terrible ‎78:not 去掉 ‎79:the-a ‎80;pay-paid 作文:Dear Sir/Madam,‎ ‎ I have read your advertisement in the newspaper. You mentioned in it that your instructors are fully qualified and you ensure that learners will be able to swim well after one week’s training.‎ ‎ I can swim a little but I’m not very confident in the water. So I’m interested in taking part in the training course. Fortunately, the summer holiday is around the corner. I’m writing to inquire when and where the course will be given, and how long the training course will last each day. I also want to know how much you will charge me for that.‎ ‎ Besides, would you be so kind as to tell me whether there is anything special that should be prepared or does your company provide everything necessary?‎ ‎ I am looking forward to hearing from you soon.‎ Yours sincerely,‎ Li Hua ‎
