One day, an elephant zoo-keeper noticed this and gave an elephant a paint brush filled with red paint to see if the elephant would paint on a canvas (画布). Sure enough, it did, and since then elephants in most zoos have been given paint brushes, paints, and canvases. The resulting abstract (抽象的) art has been sold for high prices around the world. The money goes to support feeding the elephants in the zoos. Most felt that the elephants were only capable of painting abstracts. When they arrive home, water floods (淹没) the backyard, cuts the power and floods roads, which stops Mr. and Mrs. McBride from coming home. Soon the flooding begins to invade the McBrides’ home and Elizabeth, David, Suzie and their dog Daisy try very hard to escape and survive the flood.‎ My favorite character is David because I find him very funny and brave, and although he can be stubborn and rude at times, he is still a nice and friendly person. As much as I want to be like David I could never be like him. At least, I don’t think I could ever do something as brave as he does.‎ I think Eric Walters does a great job in describing the characters and telling the story. I really feel like this all just happened in front of my eyes. Ever since I started reading Safe as Houses I never wanted to put the book down, and considering I was not a big fan of reading that did not happen very often. Safe as Houses changed my opinion in regard to reading and now I enjoy reading very much.‎ Eric Walters’ writing career (生涯) all started in 1993 when Eric was teaching a grade 5 class. His students were not good readers and did not like reading, so Eric created a book called Stand Your Ground for his students and used some of the students’ names to create the story. Ever since Eric published (出版) that book he has become a big time writer and has published many amazing different books like Camp X, Tiger Trap, Camp 30, We All Fall Down and Flyboy.‎ ‎28. About 58% of the food ‎ budget for present diets is spent on junk foods, including takeaway foods (14%), and sugary drinks (4%). ‎ In the low-socioeconomic area, a family of two adults and two children spend $640.20 every two weeks on their present diets, but could buy a healthy diet for $560.93 every two weeks. In the high-socioeconomic area, these numbers are $661.92 and $580.01.‎ Supermarket food prices were about 3% higher in the high-socioeconomic location. Takeaway foods were also relatively more expensive, but sugary drinks were priced similarly in both areas.‎ Present diets cost more than healthy diets, so causes other than price must be helping to drive preferences for unhealthy choices.‎ ‎32. They will try to cross a lake, go through a forest, and climb an icy mountain. ‎ ‎ At the start of the race, these players must cross the lake in a small boat. This part of the race takes not only strength and boating skills, but teamwork and people skills as well. ‎ ‎ When they reach the other side of the lake, they are then on their own to go through the forest. The forest is dark and thick, so it is easy to get lost. ‎ Once they reach the other side of the forest, they must climb the mountain. As they get close to the mountain top, rock will turn into snow and snow will turn into ice. At the top of the mountain, to win the race, they must plant a flag that can be seen from below. Each person has a special color flag.
